Wunderflats has started its expansion into new European countries. With over 30.000 apartments in close to 1.000 cities in Germany and Austria, the Berlin-based scale-up now offers furnished mid-term rentals in Paris too, over 1.400 apartments are already available in the French capital.
On track to becoming a heavyweight in the mid-term rental market
Founded in 2015 in Berlin, the company has seen significant growth. After launching in the French market, Wunderflats aims to increase its offering and the number of apartments available in France by 2024, and become the market leader in mid-term furnished apartment rentals here as well. Expanding its offering to France is just the beginning of a new chapter for Wunderflats. The fast-growing company already has more launches planned in other European countries for the near future.
“As the EU’s second most populous country and one of its largest economies, France was the clear first choice for Wunderflats’ expansion. The need for mid-term furnished apartments is especially high with international students who spend one or more semesters in Paris, and with internationally operating companies that want to locate their employees in Paris. This demand is greater than ever,” said Gabriel Brüser, General Manager for France at Wunderflats.
Reinforcing the European Idea of the Freedom of Movement
The mission of Wunderflats is to create new opportunities for people by providing flexible housing, supporting the European concept of freedom of movement.
By providing furnished housing on the digital platform in a simple, secure, and demand-oriented way, Wunderflats breaks down barriers for people moving to Germany and France. Foreign professionals and students are still strongly affected by discrimination in the German housing market, Wunderflats is actively working to change this situation with its solutions.
“Wunderflats is rooted in the idea of freedom and opportunity for all. We want to give people a home in a simple and unbureaucratic, barrier-free and uncomplicated way. Expanding our offer to other countries in Europe is a big step towards a fair and inclusive European Union,” said Jan Hase, Wunderflats’ CEO.
